893naughty-thumb.gif As a fellow X-Men completionist and I think Tomega will chime in here as well - that is a tough tough book to find in HG for the reasons mentioned. I am super happy with my 8.0 but that was part of an Original Owner collection as well. Great pick up. Greggy with a hand in the HG Marvels 893whatthe.gif

No offense JB, and with due respect to Mr. HighGrade, that book is a POS filler that isn't even a complete reprint of the issues it reprints. AND, that is one pathetic GK cover poke2.gif

But other than that . . . 27_laughing.gif

mad.gif Look, I'm not refuting its place of importance in the Marvel Universe - but to an X-men completionist, especially a HG completionist, the Reprint issues are a difficult task. They are much tougher than you would think, and this by all census figures and my personal experience is one of, if not the toughest to get in 9.0 or above. A point I'm sure you will emphasize at auction should you ever land one. tongue.gif

Shouldn't you be grading comic books anyway poke2.gif

As any X-men completist will testify, this issue is by far the hardest to obtain in high grade. Just check the census. There are only (3) 9.2's and (4) 8.5's. That's it for HG copies. I would like to thanks 893applaud-thumb.gif893applaud-thumb.gif893applaud-thumb.gifhail.gifhail.gifhail.gif the Gregster for finding this beauty at San Diego. Actually, it's from the Don Rosa collection.

I thought steve prescreened all the don rosa's for 9.4's and greater- did that exclude a certain portion of the collection? nice book.

It is nearly impossible to find, I would pay a really nice price for that issue. If Mr.Highgrade wants to make a really hefty profit , I am listening to any offerings.........

Exactly. If you have a non-slabbed Don Rosa copy, it didn't pass the 9.4 pre-screen. But...this obviously illustrates inconsistency on CGC's part.

However, and this is something to keep in mind when submitting - especially with prescreening - There will be a relativity bias with grading. You submit nine 0.5s and a 9.2, and the 9.2 looks like a 9.6. You submit nine 9.8s and a 9.6 and the 9.6 looks like a 9.2.

The moral is to buy prescreened 9.2s. insane.gif
