Passed away after heart surgery December 2. A true legendary illustrator.

I was introduced to his work as a college student through the Heavy Metal magazine and as a youth through the Heavy Metal movie.  I admired his style and am sorry to hear that he is gone.

It’s hard to believe that so few people are interested in commenting on an artistic legend. 😪

I think for me Heavy Metal or Epic magazine had a Den story I read as a kid. Never seen anything like it. An absolute pioneer.

Don't know how I missed this thread.

He was an amazing artist.  I liked the fact that he was willing to draw in a cartoony style, particularly the exaggerated proportions of his characters in Heavy Metal Magazine.

He experimented with a wide range of techniques and had an ability I've not seen in any other artist to give his art an almost 3D quality.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Richard Corben. A man of unique talents and a wry sense of humor, he presence is missed.
