Should a book with tape on it be pressed?

I have some lower grade books that would benefit from pressing, but have a strip of tape on the cover (either inside or outside).  Since I don’t plan a restoration to move tape, what are your experiences with pressing a book with a tape strip?  Is it not a good idea at all?

Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  We recommend you have your book screened prior to pressing to see if our experts think pressing would benefit and/or be advisable.  It should be fine to press a book with tape but we would need to see the actual book in hand before we could say definitively.

Thanks!
