Hello everyone

Im new to the CGC and I'm in the process of getting a few comics pressed and prep for CGC. My question is I have a metal gear 1 Diamond variant. Its a flawless issue with the exception of rubbing/scratches on the foil font of the front cover. The letter R has the most rubbing. I was wondering if its considered a manufacture de fect or does it take value away from its grading. Any feedback will be appreciated.Thank you!

What is the value of this book in CGC 9.8?

I have no idea on the value of the book. I know its rare and there are  only 1000 copies. I think there are 58 copies of 9.8 cgc

The only CGC 9.8 sale of that variant I see was $500 best price offer on 10 Dec.

Foil rubbing off would not be a "MFG defect".

Okay. That’s what I figured. The foil hasn’t come off but I figure the scratchy appearance would decrease the CGC grading. Dang it.
