Is that purple smudge a store stamp? 

I'm thinking 2.0 with the back cover damage.

Thanks. Yes it is a store stamp that was applied smudgily.

Edit: @Randall Ries thinks it's a subscription copy. So why it needed a store stamp as well is a mystery.

Is it a store stamp? Lots of people had stamps back then. It was high tekkie tekkie. LOL! Just looks like a sub crease straight down the middle. Maybe it isn't.
