Hello all,

I have someone wanting to sell me a small piece of their comic collection. I'm trying to be fair and hope to have the opportunity to buy more of the collection in the future. What would be a fair offer for the following comics?  I would like to make an offer with all comics and all comics except Teen Titans and Silver Surfer.  I plan on maybe keeping a comic or two but flipping the rest.  Any help would be appreciated?

I was negotiating a price on a collection recently. I am not an expert on values or grading, but I'm learning. I focused on finding comparable values for the books I was interested in or on books that I knew had some value. The seller told me that he was set on his price and had turned down offers that were not much lower than his ask. I saw that we differed on values for a number of the books. Instead of making an offer under the price that he said he'd already declined I thanked him for sharing his collection and for his time. Maybe the collection was worth 9-10X what he was asking (his estimate, not mine), maybe it wasn't (it likely wasn't).

Do some homework. Get a comfort zone. Stay in that comfort zone until you're ready to step out of it. Wash, rinse, repeat.

What a strange assortment of books. As you don't mention the condition, Im going to assume you know very little about comics.

The Silver Surfer book you listed might be a $150 book or it might be a $3,000 book.

Why is someone trying to sell you any comics, let alone these?

Odd assortment of books...only a few that I would be interested in if I were in your shoes.  Also, keep in mind that if you flip them, raw or graded, you need to know what you have.  Some of these won’t be worth a lot...depending on their condition.  I’d start with an Overstreet Comic Guide for estimated values, then make an offer for about half the total...give or take.

Also, welcome to the boards!!!(thumbsu

I don't see most of those as flippable books (except for the 3 others have already mentioned) . Generally for low dollar books it's not worth the effort to flip when you're going to be close to breaking even or make a small profit.

Does the seller know you plan to flip them? Just curious. I don't see most sellers agreeing on a low enough price for you to make profit when they could just sell for full value themselves.
