New custom label, old cert date. 0

I picked up an x-men book that has the recent custom label but when I verified the certification the date of grading came back as 2014. What’s the definitive answer for when a new cert number is assigned? I’m assuming it’s only if the grade changes?

Good morning,

A new certification number would only be assigned if the book was submitted for a regrade.  If the book was sent in for a reholder then it would retain the original certification number.
