Creepy 14, 8.0-8.5, $75,  A very cool early Creepy with an excellent cover by Gray Morrow.  Snake bitten again by my scanner.  This copy is nice and tight with great colors and gloss.  The interiors of this book are as good as it gets for early Warrens- Ditko, Adams, Grandenetti, Crandall, Severin.  The Neal Adams/Archie Goodwin story is particularly good!

I'll take Neal

Eerie 6, 9.0, $90, An excellent copy of an early Eerie.  This book has a great cover by Gray Morrow and is very glossy and fresh.  Mile High Comics just sold a NM for $156 and all of these early Warrens seem to be getting snapped up in high grade.  Interiors are stellar and include work by John Severin, Reed Crandall, Steve Ditko (one of my favorites), Gene Colan, and more.

Vampirella 8 (French), 9.0, $70, This is pretty much the same grade as my current keeper.  Hard to choose between the 2.  Originally used for the US version of Vampirella 17, it's a classic Egyptian cover by the Spanish master, Enrich Torres.

Creepy 51, 9.2, $95, An excellent cover by Sanjulian, this is another tough to find book in high grade.  I've owned many copies of this book and this is the 2nd best that I've seen and is also from that collection of glossy, white paged books.  Nice and fresh with only a couple of minor flaws.  This book is chock full of Esteban Maroto art with a couple stories by others and it of course, has the color preview of the Dracula GN.

Vampirella 9 (French), 7.0, $50, I love this book.  It's particularly cool because the original cover was used for Eerie 35 in the US.  But it seems so much more fitting for Vampirella!  Nice solid copy that would grade higher if not for a small crease on the spine.

Let's start off tonight with some odds and ends.

National Lampoon, August 1971, 8.0, $30, Cool early Lampoon with a classic Kelly Freas cover.  Nice solid and tight copy with some classic interiors!  The cigarette ad on the back cover cracks me up for some reason.

Eerie 8, 7.5, $75, Classic Frazetta cover that is significantly harder than most other issues of the same time period.  This may be the first work by Frazetta that I saw growing up.  This copy has nice gloss and color but has some wear directly on the spine that isn't super clear in the scan along with some other general wear.  Tough book to grade.  Sold to JRBaxter

Blazing Combat 4, 8.0, $70, Another great Frazetta cover with excellent colors and gloss.  This is the final issue of the short run and includes wonderful interiors by Reed Crandall, John Severin, Russ Heath, Alex Toth, Wally Wood, Gene Evans, and more.  Another example of how Jim Warren and Archie Goodwin reemployed the EC artists in the early issues.  This is a great book that's nice and white but has a few minor issues on the back cover (not very visible in the scan) that keep it from grading higher.  Sold to Morganmi
