What is this printing color error?

I've seen books with missing colors or pigment but this is a first that I've seen missing a color like this;

What would have caused this? how would it affect the grading, if at all?

Any idea how this happens? It looks like there might have been something on the printing plate or on the page.

Also it kinda make me wish this cover had been make in a Ivory and gold edition at the time

I'm curious. Are we talking about oil leaking from the printing press itself? And I've never heard you mention webbing before. Any further explanation would be enlightening...thank you!

Web = the paper that runs through the press  

Yes, you need hydraulic oil to run a press
