book finished at over $3000 he just made a cool grand in 2 months and all he had to do was take it out of the capsule.

I think now just the anticipation of maybe getting a ungraded key book in VF at a fraction of the price is enough to drive some prices pretty high!

Well, yeah - but the staples looked clean! (man - why does this happen? - Don't answer - I know why - but STILL.)

I once emailed the top bidder of an obvious scam and received some seriously irate and mentally unstable email back, threatening a lawsuit (from the buyer? lol) and all sorts of physical harm.

You inadvertently discovered one of that seller's shill accounts that they use to bid on their own.

The book is the same from the first link DEFNITELY (IMO) and has been broken out so that seller can relist it "raw" at a higher grade - if the person selling the book now actually did some pressing and cleaning after he broke it out of the slab, it may actually be a higher grade now. But the seller's email response was very suspect and did nothing to answer the real questions. By the pattern of speech/writing, it is obvious they are repeating certain truths along with some "white lies" in order to deceive the next buyer. why have 2 Hulk 1 copies in near same grade and sell off the higher condition book ?

Well that's how you make money! The grade obviously magically increased once this particular buyer owned the book. And didn't you know cgc is wrong about a lot of that restoration stuff? This guy realized cgc's mistake and freed the book of the erroneous grade on the cgc holder and properly re-graded it. That is a good way to make money on ebay - you just buy books in the fine to vf range and sell them in the 9.4 range. After all grading IS subjective and it just takes an expert to accurately grade and then hawk the qualities of a true high grade unrestored gem mint book. The original seller was obviously a novice who did not know how to market his product.
