Grading Sealed Comics

I have, for some reason, ThunderCats issues 1-3 from 1985. They're still sealed in the plastic that they came in. I was wondering if sealed comics can be graded, and if not, is it better for value to leave them in the packaging or to open them and send off for grading? Noob inquiry I know. Thank you!

Having them sealed means nothing to Cgc, so you should take them out yourself before sending them in.

whether it’s better to leave them in the bag depends on the grade of the comics.  If you expect to get Cgc 9.8’s then probably better to take them out and submit them.

if you expect to get 9.2’s or lower probably better to leave them in the bag.

since you’re somewhat new I think leaving them in the bag is better until you are absolutely sure there is a better move.

If you're insistent on getting it graded, it's better for you to remove them from the seal and inspect the books yourself to get a better idea of the estimated grade.

Personally, I like these sealed books because they're a look back at a historical period in which comics were packaged, sealed, and sold in a variety of marketplaces (toy stores, drug stores, etc).  The historical significance means more to me than the book value so I would never unwrap them.

I would keep them sealed...they are so cool.....unless, obviously, they're 9.8
