I have an ASM #124 from the Northland collection with a certificate of authenticity. I aim thinking of having it graded but I am not sure how that works.  I only want to have it graded if it is a recognized pedigree on the label.  In addition, what happens to the certificate of authenticity that came with it?  Will I get it back with the comic?  Any information is appreciated.

Northland is one of the pedigrees we recognize so if we can confirm your book is part of that collection, then it would be noted on the label and you would receive the special pedigree label.  You can find a full listing here: Pedigree Comic Book Collections | CGC (cgccomics.com)

We do not recommend you include COA's with your book as they are not encapsulated and may get separated from your book during the grading process.  You can send in a photocopy of the COA instead.

Thank you.  Your explanation helps, although it seems odd that you can just send in a photocopy of a pedigree.  Seems like there is a lot of room for dishonesty.
