When CGC comes out with their new labeling system, how would that affect your slab purchasing decisions:

For instance, slabs with the old label tend to be undergraded and may be immune to this Ewert fiasco. 893crossfingers-thumb.gif Also, many of these books exhibit some additional grading notes (rusted staple, date stamp, inside tears, etc.). However, the chances for SCS (especially for overhang books that were still being graded at this time) and outer slab damage, are greater for these old labeled slabs. Plus, the micro-chamber paper may need replacing fairly soon...... if people are worried about that.

Slabs with current blue labels are supposedly less prone to SCS damage (especially for moderns), and have the large grade notation shown in the corner to avoid small scan frauds on Ebay. Plus, many would argue that CGC grading became more consistent during this 2-year phase (or vice-versa). The down side with these labels is that pressing and more importantly trimming became a lot more prominent during this era.

Finally, the new updated blue labels would have hopefully fixed the missed trimming problem that CGC faces with the current and/or the old label slabs. Plus, they may improve the holder to avoid SCS damage. However, having to sort through restored books in blue labels can be a problem for some.
