Scanner recommendations for OA size

Basically, I need to know what type of scanner you guys recommend for scanning original art size 11x17 mostly. I don't want to spend 500 bucks, but I would spend a little money in order to get a nice quality scan - thanks

We use this:

[embarrassing lack of self control] for most anything else, but works great for OA - and one of the cheapest A3 scanners around.

 

We also use the following connected to a Mac:

which is an excellent all-round machine - but costs more.

The purpose of the question is to find a tabloid scanner so that he won't have to do that.

 

I use that same Mustek. It's great for line art and for a tabloid scanner it's cheap (under $200)

I use the Mustek as well. Got it off of ebay for under $75. Works great, although the images seem a bit "pale". Any other Mustek users have this problem?

The Mustek or the Plustek scanners are the ones most people use, unless they're willing to drop over a grand. They work great for our purposes, and they're cheap.

I usually take mine to Kinkos, and make 8 x 11 Xerox copies of the originals.

I do too. Have several large size pieces (EC art which is twice up) and find Kinkos very helpful and easy to use.
