Matt1982
Love your thoughts - thanks! I’m particularly interested in what you think the fact that the “S” in “Spider-Man” rolls over to the spine does to the grade? I’m hoping It’ll clean up nicely, but not sure what that roll will do it it. Edited October 25, 2021 by Matt1982 Galen130
marvelmaniac
If the lower staple is centered then the off center wrap is a Bindery Defect and should not affect the grade on this one. (I do not know CGC's stance on this) The book Lies Flat, it is Clean, Sharp Colors, No Creasing, Sharp Corners/Edges, only a Few, Minor Stress Lines (I do not know what the mark/crease is on the front cover on the side of the building and through Spidey's right armpit.) Disregarding the unknown mark I would grade this book a... 8.0 VERY FINE (VF): Back to TopAn excellent copy with outstanding eye appeal. A limited accumulation of minor bindery/printing defects is allowed. Cover is relatively flat with minimal surface wear beginning to show, possibly including some minute wear at corners. Inks are generally bright with moderate to high reflectivity. An unnoticeable 1/4" crease is acceptable if color is not broken. Stamped or inked arrival dates may be present. Minor foxing. Spine is almost completely flat with a possible minor color break. Staples may show some discoloration. Very slight staple tears and a few almost insignificant stress lines may be present. Paper is cream to tan and supple. Centerfold is mostly secure. Minor interior tears at the margin may be present. Galen130
Unless my eyes deceive me, I believe I see a comic that would benefit from a cleaning. 9.0/9.2 Matt1982 and Funnybooks 1
Zegeroth
8.0 from me. Limits are the stain by the stop staple, stains in bot right area, and back top left corner crease. The comic is miswrapped which will not affect the grade, but could affect value to others. Matt1982
comicginger1789
If that ink mark near the top staple is just that (or can be removed…I had similar black mark in my ASM 361 and a little erasing work removed easily), you could be looking at a higher grade. However if those back cover creases in the top left corner break colour (they appear to but it’s hard to tell), then I think 8.5 would be the highest to hope for. Matt1982
Grade is in! The old men had it right - 9.0. I was hoping for a little higher but it certainly could’ve been lower, so I’m happy. Thanks for all the expert help! Also, I think they did a really nice job on the C&P - you can’t see the creases in the upper corner unless you know they were there.
