If there is anyone who could take a glance at this comic and give me a considered grade, I would really appreciate it. All pages intact. Edge wear, including a sun stain (?) on right edge. The inside cover has red ink bleeding from outer cover, and the outer cover 'billboard' portion seems to have red blurring. I'm interested to know how much this ink blur/leak has on the final grade; that is, if it is considered a flaw or a manufacturer error. Thank you in advance for your opinions.

The ink bleed is definitely not a manufacturing defect.  The bleed occurred because the book spent at least part of its life in a humid environment.  I see no tidelines or other evidence of direct contact with water, but there definitely was moisture in the surrounding air. This book is definitely in better shape than your Superman #66.  I'd call it a 4.0 VG.  I could see it improving to a 4.5 VG+ or 5.0 VG/FN with a proper cleaning/pressing.  Nice copy.  (thumbsu

Also on the back 3/4 of the way up on the right - is that a staple mark or staple or something else entirely?

It's a rust stain from the staple of the adjacent book in the stack.  I've seen this blemish thousands of times.  (thumbsu

I agree. But I think the moisture damage will effect the grade the same as water damage. Since it seems to effect the entire copy, max grade will be GD.

Thanks for sharing. It was a good book to grade. Not your run-of-the-mill.

Back from CGC today. Hit 4.0, but no mention of the bleeding ink in grader's notes. Thanks for everyone's expert opinions.

I see you started a new account to post the results of your PGM threads.  I merged the new account with this original one.

Thanks for your help, Mike. I am new at this and didn't realize I had 2 accounts.

So, this is your third account. LOL...  Would you like me to merge your RichCat account with this Fukuoka account?  You can only have 1 account on the forum.  I am guessing you no longer use the e-mail address attached to the  RichCat account, and your current e-mail is the one you are using with this Fukuoka account.  If that is the case, it would be best to do the merge I suggested above.

Let me know,

Mike

Wow, weird... WTH was I thinking? Yes, if you can merge them, that would be great. Sorry for the trouble.

No  trouble at all.  The merge was successful.
