I agree with Tom M.

 

Go read some Neal Adams Batman books, and compare to the current fanboy-crazed Jim Lee stuff. Jim's stuff dosen't even hold a candle to it.

Absolutely. N Adams and to some extent Steranko were decades ahead of their contemporaries. Jim Lee's stuff is pretty cool but pales in comparison to Adams, especially when you take into account that Adams was doing this 30 years prior.

Also, although Jim Lee's stuff is easy on the eyes, from a technical standpoint his art is very flawed. Just look at his faces. Like many other comic artists, he makes all his faces(especially women) look pretty much the same.
