I had it at 6.0 but don't have a lot of experience with mid-grades. Is that cover wear on the bottom normal for SS #1? I have a copy that has wear very similar to that.

I think it will benefit from a light clean/press.  6.5 when it's all said and done...maybe 7.0.  IMO.

I'm at 6.0 as square-bounds always suffer a little from the production process but yours is very nicely aligned and the spine quite square unlike many. At least some of that spine split is going to be bindery in origin. It's a case of how much more has it split from handling. But its a solid looking copy.
