That Nightmare 3 is an awesome score! It is a bit nicer than the copy I have so I was debating

I appreciate it, Jayman. I've been lusting for nice copies of both it and the #5 for awhile, now. Ever since someone posted a scan of their #5 :cloud9:

Oh yeah, that 5 is nothing to sneeze at either, such a great cover with those moody blues!
Back in the late 80’s I was at the Frazetta museum when Ellie would give the tours. Someone mentioned Boris and she said; “ Ah yes, he’s been here often and just studies these paintings!” Frank and Boris were the best at what they do and while most will favor Frazetta, Boris knocked it out of the park more often than not!

  • His Name Is Savage #1
  • NM-/NM  ow/w pages
  • Gil Kane art
  • $125

Self published by Kane in 1968, and considered by many a prototype graphic novel.  Only a single 9.4 copy sits atop the CGC census, followed by only a single 9.2 copy.  A slightly different version was reprinted in the 1980s.

And the awesome splash page (image from the Internet, not of the splash of this copy):
