If it makes you feel any better, just think what a massive loss the guy will take when/if he or his heirs ever cash out. Obviously the guy has money to burn on insane bidding wars with crazy people, but I would imagine that even a millionaire would wince if they took a 90% hit on an "investment" when they resold...It's not as if he only buys high grade books, either. Remarkable individual.

 

Phew, that makes me feel a little better. Anyone else?

Actually, I kinda admire the guy. True, he may buy some tat, but he has picked up an enormous quantity of fabulous books off ebay and whatever his profession, price is obviously not an issue. He seems to be about as true a collector as you can get, as I doubt resale is an issue.

 

As to his heirs, who knows. Maybe he has $2M tied up in funny books, but $20M in the bank?
