One time the lab I worked at decided we needed security guards at night when lab was closed.  About a week later everyone came to work and noticed all their good stereo equipment had been replaced with old crappy stuff.  Speakers from one dept, turntable from next etc.  It turned out the security guards had stolen all the equipment.  A google search showed that a high number of thefts come from-security guards....
