The Official Skybound Energon Universe Thread! Transformers #6 Out NOW!
Cat replied to Cat's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
I received my month's comics today, and read Transformers #1-5 in preparation for #6. When I opened #6 something in my gut told me to check the letters page first, and lo and behold, I'd been published! After trying for 4 issues they finally published one of my letters, the first time I've ever been published like that, but also the only time I've ever tried. Fun stuff. Now to enjoy the actual issue! -
I don't know if it was said in the episode, I thought it was, but I may be getting my wires crossed from the comic, but the invasion won't be happening for some time, 100 years I believe. So they've got time. As for Eve, I believe what you're asking of her is simply too big for her to do considering how her powers work. I don't think she could do it. Just my conjecture. Plus for her to do that would take all her energy, meaning she'd have no way of keeping up her protective suit. She'd have no oxygen. She'd have died.

I think you've posted some of the wrong pics, mate. Bottom two appear to be the backing boards?
-
Yeah I actually genuinely thought "oh wow they've changed things, she's okay." then a moment later "Okay, no to that".

So, what'd we all think of the new episode? I loved it, and I'm not generally too hot on the Sequid storyline. For people who have read the comic, please click here for my thoughts

This Week In Your Plastic Crack, Action Figures and Toy Collection
Cat replied to Buzzetta's topic in Comics General
JLA wave from McFarlane went up for preorder at BBTS. When I saw them Superman Blue had already sold out and John had just done the same, meaning I only got preorders in on Batman and Aquaman. I hope they get more stock in, I want a whole set, and an extra Superman Blue because I absolutely love that design. They no longer show items as Sold Out, but they remove them completely, so even their front-page ad for them is gone. You'd never know they'd been listed yet, which is a change I definitely don't like. -
I feel the same way with Johns, he's generally a pretty safe bet. A horror feel? That sounds cool! I loved the moment in Blackest Night where Black Lantern Aquaman summoned dead great white sharks to kill Atlantean soldiers and Ocean Master or Black Manta, can't remember which. Anyway, cool moment. More of that kind of thing would be awesome.

Oh that's good, as while Johns is one of my favourite writers, I'm not exactly big on Aquaman (though I do like what little I've seen of Mera in Blackest Night and Brightest Day, and am looking forward to more of her, she's a great character under Johns) so I really hope this is the something special I've heard it talked up as. Hearing you say that really reassures me, as your opinion hasn't let me down yet.

I've got to stop doing this. Aquaman by Geoff Johns omnibus was on sale for $85 shipped from $180 plus shipping. I couldn't say no to that, so I bought a copy. No more purchases for me. This is getting ridiculous. Gah! I know next to nothing about the book though, other than I love both Johns and Reis, and I loved Mera during Blackest Night. I really thought she was going to be the next big thing. Still sad that never came to be.

STAR WARS First Trilogy original cut potential release
Cat replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
Not entirely appropriate for this thread, but there's not really anywhere for it, and it deserves to be seen. Really good interview with Jake Lloyd's mother (kid Anakin from Episode 1). Goes into his whole life, his troubles with the law and his medical issues. Absolutely worth reading. https://scrippsnews.com/stories/the-real-life-saga-of-star-wars-child-actor-jake-lloyd/- 132 replies

A book I was not expecting, this book is apparently doing well month-in, month-out. Not the top seller, but up there. It's Green Lantern. I thought it's day was over, but apparently not, the new run has generated some good buzz at my store.

Tales Of The Green Lantern Corps Annual #3. I wanted to read this for Alan Moore's story about Rot Lop Fan. It was great, very inventive. I can see why his early work was blowing minds, this is a really creative piece. Green Lantern by Geoff Johns omnibus volume 2. Here we go, now we're sinking our teeth into it. The meat of the run, Blackest Night. The story's still got it, and it was a pleasure to read, even for someone whose been well and truly over zombie content for the last decade. This is Johns at his best. That takes me up to 585 books read for the year so far. Next up: Green Lantern by Johns volume 3, naturally! This is all-new material for me, so I'm psyched for it. Will my choice to drop the book after Blackest Night back in the day be vindicated, or will this omnibus prove me wrong and show me what an insufficiently_thoughtful_person I was? I suspect it'll be the latter, but we'll see.

This cover is horrible, and anyone who says otherwise is a liar!
