Do miscuts cause downgrades?

In grading there is no "Black and White" there are "Grey" areas that folks will not agree on including CGC.

I do not have my books graded, however, I think it would depend on the grader on that particular day, the rest of the book and how much the miscut cover affects its aesthetic appeal, the grading standards state for books from NM 9.4 - MT 9.9...

"Only subtle bindery or printing defects are allowed."

Define Subtle..."so delicate or precise as to be difficult to analyze or describe."

My suggestion would be to post good pictures of the book, complete front and rear cover, spine, corners, edges, staples, centerfold, so the group can determine the overall condition of the book and properly answer your question.

FYI, I will not assign a grade higher than NM 9.4 to any book that I do not have in front of me.
