Alpha Flight 1 printing error? 2 2

Hello, folks…

I’m not sure if this darker “blotch” near the spine is a printing error, or?

I came across two very nice copies of this book, and they both have this (except one copy has a slightly rusted staple, and this copy doesn’t.)

It doesn’t have a texture, so I’m guessing it’s paint, or an issue from the original packing?

Has anyone come across this before on an Alpha Flight 1?

Interesting… dug around a bit and found an image of a graded 9.6 with a similar color “blotch” in the same spot…

Looks like a mark from the track or skid where the book was bound at the press. If it's common enough (and by your research it would appear to be), then there should be no or very little (-0.2) deduction in grade.
