That appears to be a stacking curl, I cannot answer your question on a press since I do not use this service.

If the stacking curl were not present I would assign a grade of NM 9.4 (I will not assign a higher grade without the book being in front of me), with the stacking curl?

The grading standards all the way down to VF/NM 9.0 state..."Spine Is Tight and Flat", how much of a hit does a NM 9.4 or NM+ 9.6 take with this?

If it's a stacking crease (I'm 50/50 about it), I think it'd grade 8.0/8.5 since it's deep and runs the length of the spine. If it's not, 6.5 or so.

A press would fix it in any case and you'd be looking at a 9.4.

Thanks for posting.

Definitely needs a press.  Problem is whether those ticks on the front break the ink or not.  A press may make them worse.  I don’t see anything else to warrant below a 9.4…with a solid press.
