Can somebody please explain how Wonder Bread can clean dirty comics?

This works best if the residue is still tacky. If you are talking about old, dried-on sticker residue, this probably won't lift it off.

I've done the wonderbread thing twice, with moderate to nice results, the key is to be very PATIENT with it, you may have to repeat the process over and over before you get the clean level you are looking for, also, I need to note I've only rubbed in white areas on the comic I've never rubbed in colored areas, I'm too afraid to do that just yet...

Is it safe to assume that whole wheat is not a good idea, even in the case of stubborn stains?
