Thanks in advance for your input.

Small stress mark on front cover at bottom of lower staple.

Sun shadow along the right edge of the front cover.

Perforation tears on the bottom of back cover and the first four and last three interior pages.

Probably gonna embarrass myself but 9.2/9.4 is where I'm at. The sun shadow I'm having trouble gauging the impact of. Nice book, I see that book all the time with a very bad miswrap of front cover.

"Perforation tears"    aren't those bindery defects? not sure how CGC treats them. Nice book in any case. I'm at 9.2 not knowing what hit it will take because of the sun shadow

Agreed. Staple areas are impacting my grade. Bindery and perforated tears should be manufacturing defects.

Those little perforation tears won't impact grade at all, they're a very common result of the binding process. But, the sun shadow is hard for me to get past. I may be off-base, but I have this at 8.0 max due to the shadow and the bottom staple issue. Thanks for sharing!

From my experience, they are rather harsh on dust or sun shadows. Based on that, I'm at a 8.0 but I would be closer to 9.4 without it.

tough one...unusual to see shadowing on a "modern" book

i may be way off base but I have a hard time assigning any grade with nm in the description even if this copy is structurally nm

i'll go 8.5  with a chance at 9.0?
