Agreed. Staple areas are impacting my grade. Bindery and perforated tears should be manufacturing defects.

Those little perforation tears won't impact grade at all, they're a very common result of the binding process. But, the sun shadow is hard for me to get past. I may be off-base, but I have this at 8.0 max due to the shadow and the bottom staple issue. Thanks for sharing!

tough one...unusual to see shadowing on a "modern" book

i may be way off base but I have a hard time assigning any grade with nm in the description even if this copy is structurally nm

i'll go 8.5 (shrug) with a chance at 9.0?
