Yes, that is waviness on front and back - if possible, where do you think this would land with a press?

The faint horizontal line at the bottom of the back cover is from the mylar.

Speaking of awesome painted covers, I can't believe I had the great taste to pick this up when I was in high school 30 years ago!

I think with a C&P you're looking at 9.0/9.2.

I've had my eye on a copy of this book for a while. My LCS has it in their back issue bin. It really is an awesome cover.

Love this issue! I've had a copy for many years. I won't dare to guess on the grade as I'm viewing on my phone. Much better condition than mine though! Was this a one shot? If anyone knows. I have not seen another in this series.

Take it out of the mylar and scan it.  It might be dulling the scans.
