Mark Evanier is reporting James Bama has passed away.

He's probably best known for his Doc Savage covers, but he did the covers for at least a few pulps as some of his earliest work.  These are the three the ISFDB credits to him, all three are from my personal collection... I didn't know until just now that I the AFR 15 and the 10 Story Fantasy were his.

RIP - a big loss.

This is the second print of his first pb cover (Avon 266)  - not my copy, it is in a deep dive. Great sense of humor as well as draftsmanship

Huge loss. I collected all his Doc covers as a kid. And his western art was beyond belief. They should have a national holiday for him.
