When the credits began to roll, I didn’t really get it. Sure, the movie was extremely well made, and objectively good, but I didn’t feel moved by it. But as time went by I found myself unable to stop thinking about it. Throughout the night I was becoming more and more excited by what I had watched earlier that day. Soon it hit me just how amazing the film really was. Really it was the idea that stories are what drive mankind and how these stories connect us all. Narratives have patterns that we can see repeated over and over from one story to the other. It makes us realize that we as people are and have always been the same. Three Thousand Years of Longing brings audiences together not just to show them the importance of storytelling, but how we are all connected and alike, a message that we could really use in times like these.

Three Thousand Years of Longing is a film with stunning visuals, fantastic leads with great slow-burn chemistry, and an epic story that make for a wonderfully bittersweet and lasting impact on the audience.

Overall: 9.0/10

Hopefully it will perform better for Elba than Beast did this weekend.

I have no idea what Beast is making at the box office (not interested) but the trailers look great and the reviews are decent so far. Looking forward to seeing both of these Elba flicks.

I'm not big on following the BO $$$ as well, but I saw that it got beaten by some anime (maybe Dragon Ball?) this weekend?

You think the trailer looks good?  I thought it looked terrible and figured this to be a "paycheck movie" for him at best or a studio/contract obligation.

Yup, I’m a sucker for man vs animal movies and there’s no bad cgi here so I’m in.

Excited about this. A George Miller movie is a thing to be celebrated. Tilda and Idris are just the cherry on top.

Gee, I thought it pretty nifty but I'm probably a sucker for pseudo-mythological krapp.

I'm shocked! George Miller directing, and with Tilda Swinton and Idis Elba leading?

I guess that I’ll wait to stream this one then…
