How to determine price for grading?

I probably am missing the answer in here already, but can anyone tell me how to determine what price I need to go off of to know what tier to use? For example I wanted to get Thor 165 graded but am not sure how to determine what tier. thanks!

Your best bet is to check eBay sold listings and see what a comparable condition issue has gone for:

If you aren’t sure of condition you can post pictures in the spare a grade thread and people will give their estimates:

You can think of it an insurance value if something happens to it while CGC has possession of it (or the shipping company since the value can drive the return shipping cost)    IE What would it cost you to find a similar replacement raw comic. Note that you can pick any tier you want to (as long as the age fits)   CGC won't refund you if you pick a higher tier that what the book eventually is determined to be worth.  The can also charge you additional money if the tier you pick is too low (though I only see mention of that when there is a wide discrepancy between submitted FMV and the final grade)
