Grendelbo has been making extensive use of the Grading Contest VIP Lounge and Cocktail Bar. (To be fair, it *is* quite lavish.) But while he's been lollygagging about, other hungry young graders are bolting past him!

My pleasure! These contests over the years (first Nik's contests, then Andrew/Shin's Green Eggs contests, now Mike/CGC's contests and finally my own) have been super helpful in recalibrating my own grading.

I think most of us started out being super loose graders ages ago, then tightened up our standards -- maybe too much -- to be in line with CGC's. It's good to know if you're *too* strict a grader, particularly with GA/SA where a point or two may mean $100s (or even $1000s) on the line. 

It may just be random, but my own guesses for my books were closer to the mark this time than with the batch of books I submitted in 2020 for my first contest (even with CGC's own standards potentially bobbing & weaving a bit in the meantime).
