Smendell
I found this Batman comic within My dads small collection of comics from the early 70's. It's held up pretty well. It still has that feeling of a strong spin when you pick it up. The only real issue I have with it is this pencil mark on the front. Does it still have value or does that mark just ruin it? What grade would you give this? I don't know anything about this stuff so If you have any suggestions or advice I'd love to hear it. Thank you! scburdet
The pencil is a store date and should not affect the grade. You've got some pretty standard handling defects. I think some of the photos are shadowed, which might be making the interior pages look more foxed than they are. The interior paper is definitely not pristine. If you find a reputable cleaner/presser (there are several who lurk about on these boards), I think you could make this book look better and could get a 4.0±0.5 grade. Not a high grade, but this book would go for $250-350 dollars in today's market. Not bad considering.
grendelbo
4.5 Penciled arrival date. It won't effect the grade. Thanks for sharing.
Point Five
Great find! Looks like first wrap has a wonky tear at the bottom staple, and in general lots of bends, scuffs and creases scattered around. Maybe 4.0, but I'd say 3.5 to be safe.
