Mahaloman
Hey, can someone please tell me if what this eBay seller posted on his listing is accurate regarding CGC grading with the sticker on the front cover of this book? Thanks for the help. Here's the listing and his comments below:https://www.ebay.com/itm/265695139374?hash=item3ddcaa162e:g:XAMAAOSwxyFigrT3&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAsKq%2B%2B1s%2B7MHgalI5GMJjnI2RRqDVKXniux8XBWciBf%2BARqz4lXJXWTzQtLtzIR1zh4b4IMFBIUp7X8fn2fXdyN2QAu2nzmXB7UMc9c35HrSCCvv9N2uGTMl0P4daxjNZeD%2FsV%2F%2FKlQ%2BiWCLNMy%2BwkEf0mJfChaWnaztdrnCfuDBydTnePq%2FBJfqT3WpYTT%2F%2BAkaBV3M0v2yshWztyIoFa1BxX4GzcupKll2%2FraJIknEr|tkp%3ABk9SR7q8sc7pYA Batman: "Almost Got 'Im"! #nn (Western Publishing 1993) CGC 9.6! Immaculate White Pages! CGC Green Label (see note). Considered 1st Appearance of Harley Quinn in comics, predating Batman Adventures #12. Please note: The Green Label was assigned by CGC for the presence of the laser-foil label on the lower left-hand cover. This foil label is in fact, a validation point for the original and first printing of this comic, which was included in the Tale 'N Tape packaging. CGC graded these before they had done their research, and should be in a Universal case. So this one is a novelty CGC encapsulation error as well...But look for the laser label to confirm..see my "new in package" listing for a comparison. Most 9.8's and 9.6's are also mislabeled in the green, and if you compare it to those in the original packaging you will see that they all have the laser-label. This comic is ultra-rare, with only 5 graded higher, and only 2 at 9.6 in the CGC census (both with the green label). MAY1979

grendelbo
I believe it should be an Universal label. But the sticker should be regarded as a defect and the book downgraded according to the stickers's size and placement. CGC will qualify books with stickers though. See these examples - (First post; Category 6 examples.) However, Qualified books generally have the qualified notation written in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. This book very well may have the wrong label. Maybe it could receive a 9.6 Universal with that small of a official licensed product sticker. Or maybe the notes were keyed in wrong. Again I invite @zzutakto this conversation. Thanks for sharing. Thank you very much for that info. I'm just wondering how CGC is grading this book with the sticker from this point forward. I'm thinking of maybe investing in it but I'm no fan of green labels. As the eBay seller says in my first post. . . --------------- "This foil label is in fact, a validation point for the original and first printing of this comic, which was included in the Tale 'N Tape packaging. CGC graded these before they had done their research, and should be in a Universal case." ---------------- Is this correct? Thanks again. MAY1979
Simply staple an acetate over it and it will get a blue label. For an extra fee you can also get a 9.9 or 10 grade.
