I think that MCS Shoney #1 is priced that way because of the rarity of that book in that condition.

These prices are more in line with the mid-grade value of those books:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/313994706939 - BIN for $10.95; sat on ebay for 3.5 months at that price

https://www.ebay.com/itm/255696068328 - Best offer of $25 on a lot of 16 books including #1, listed for 1 day

My high school history teacher used to write the scripts for these about 30 years ago. He would always slip in references to US history (there was a whole secretly Nixon themed one) that I'm sure his students were the only people in the world to know about.

I’d be interested in the Nixon ones  anymore info

I am a collector of "Adventures of the Big Boy" but only issues from 1955-1964, thought I was the only one, Bob's Big Boy was my favorite restaurant as a kid in the early 60's in NE Phila.

According to MCS, the #1 issue of "Shoney's Big Boy" (1976) is indeed pricey, more than I would have anticipated, I assume these books are hard to find in higher grade and it was the start of a new series while the old series continued on.

There are not any listed on eBay at the moment, however, an Adventures of the Shoney's Big Boy #1 sold for $10.95 on eBay on August 22, the price matches this...

According to MCS the price is much higher than $10.00, there is currently an auction going on, what will it sell for?

Would have been around 89-91, I think it was one where they were storming a castle? I may have a copy somewhere. My teacher's name was Scott Dixon, so he'd be listed as the writer.

I bumped up my bid and won it at 68$. My decision was based on beginning to take my bobs big book collection to the next level!

the very first issue, first series) (Everett cover, Timely in-house production) sells for over 1k!

No, lots of Big Boys were regional and they just added "Big Boy" to existing restaurants. In my area it was Abdow's Big Boy.

No kidding? I think Shoney’s is the only “variant” I know. There are “Bobs Big Boy Comics” and Shoney’s Big Boy comics”

Is there a taco bell BBB variant cause I'd be interested in that.
