Auction for the Red Cross. Own a piece of Klondike history 0

This an an auction where all the proceeds go to the Red Cross.

The winner will make the donation directly and I will mail the deed to them. 

For your consideration is the deed to  a share of the Klondike Big Inch Land Company.

In 1954, Quaker Oats brought 19.11 acres of land , and subdivided it into 21,000,000 lots, each one being a square inch.

In association with the radio show and comic book series Sgt Preston of the Yukon, people were encouraged  to mail in box tops to get the original 5 inch by 8 inch deeds, but the State of Ohio had some objection so smaller deeds were included in select boxes of cereal.

Sadly, the Canadian government siezed the land in 1965 for back taxes totaling $37.20, and the Big Inch Land Company dissolved.  The land is now part of a golf course.

Some ground rules- No petty people ,nor folks of the list.

Starting bid is $10, raise it by whatever you want and the auction ends at the stroke of midnite NY time this Sunday night(12:01AM Monday)
