Not sure I would predict a 9.6 on this one, I'd be more at 9.4 as the ceiling. The two outer corners look like they're a little less than sharp and there's that spine indention you highlight. With a cardstock cover, not much is going to make that better I'd guess. I don't see any newsstand 9.6s online with that kind of corner defect (I found a 9.4), so it's a roll of the dice.

That is a "Bindery Tear" and it will affect the grade.

Bindery Tear. a small horizontal rip found on the spine in a book's cover that can usually be seen from the front to the back. if a bindery tear is shorter than 1/4″, then these can be graded like a spine stress.

NM+ 9.6 No bindery tears are allowed.

NM 9.4 Bindery tears must be less than 1/16" on Silver Age and later books

Bindery tear top left corner, slightly blunted lower right corner w/slight color rub, small dent/tick in spine about at the halfway point.

IMO...

9.4 NEAR MINT (NM):  Back to Top
Nearly perfect with only minor imperfections that keep it from the next higher grade. Subtle bindery/printing defects are allowed. Bindery tears must be less than 1/16" on Silver Age and later books, although on Golden Age books bindery tears of up to 1/4" have been noted. Cover is flat with no surface wear. Inks are bright with high reflectivity and a minimum of fading. Corners are cut square and sharp with ever-so-slight blunting permitted. A 1/16" bend is permitted with no color break. Small, inconspicuous, lightly penciled, stamped or inked arrival dates are acceptable as long as they are in an unobtrusive location. Slight foxing. Spine is tight and flat. Staples are generally centered; may have slight discoloration. Almost no stress lines. Paper is off-white to cream, supple and fresh. Slight interior tears are allowed.

Time to wait for a signing potential then lol. Will get pressing and a signature series hopefully I'll get that random grade bump. Idk how I didn't notice the top left at first.
