Same at my LCS. I put the book in a mylar, and stuck the sticker on the back of the backing board.

 

That's odd. But I guess we don't really see many limited variants from DC. If Marvel did that, they'd go bankrupt purchasing/printing the stickers due to the sheer number of them they'd need.

The sticker is just an orderpack code # put there by Diamond for the stock monkies. Something Diamond started this year.
