The comic is based on the autobiography I Changed Gods in 1968 (released in the U.S. under the same name as the comic) by Maria Anne Hirschmann. I believe that Hirschmann is still living.

Hirshman (Hirschmann) found God after working for the German Govt and revoked her third reich beliefs.. She's a naturalized American who set up various immigration / refugee organisations.

Its a christian comic - and it's all written in it.
