The best comic writers are hardly stingy with their words, but they know how and when to use (and not use) them. Sure, but I didn't mean filler. There were more-involved stories. This is compared to some of the stuff in the 90's when it was all flashy splashes on expensive paper... Alan Moore is always good for some involved exposition. I am referring to Ditko's 9 panel pages and the like; there is a lot going on on one page. MattTheDuck, Larryw7 and Readcomix
shadroch
Back in the 1980s, I had a customer who was an art teacher at a nearby high school. One day he brought in what he said was an art project John Romita Jr had done a few years before. It was a recreation, panel by panel of Defenders 34. I traded him some stuff for it and figured I'd eventually get JRJR to sign it. Over the years I showed it to many people and everyone agreed it was a great find. Around 2015, after thirty or so years, I finally get around to asking him to sign it. I expect him to be excited and surprised by his high school art project, but he tells me he has never seen this before.

shadroch
Not really. Once I found out they weren't his, I gave away a few pages to people who liked them, and the rest went when I sold the last of my stuff. I believe I saved one page, just as a souvenir. Buzzetta
It's been done... and recently. They did it with GI Joe 21. For the anniversary of ARAH, they redid the book panel by panel using modern GI Joe artists. I wound up buying a page of the art from one of the artists. I cannot find the anniversary issue online so I can show the comparison of the original page and the art. Buzzetta
I found another page on CAF... this is the Netho Diaz remake. My page came from Jamie Sullivan. So as you were inquiring, each page was done in a different style. Brandon Shepherd

This is great - and this is also probably the perfect book to do something like this, since you don't have to worry about dialogue at all.

These both have that vibe of a classic song being remade by a modern pop singer where live instruments get replaced with the latest studio software. I’d be a lot less “meh” if either of the newer artists told the story in an original way instead of just copying the panels in their own style. They’re interpreting the art instead of the story being told, maybe at the editor’s instructions, which seems like a lack of confidence in their creativity but given the opportunity to shine, they both should’ve tried to knock it out of the park but I’m only speaking for myself here. To each his own Most of the artists just aped the layout of the original. The only one I remember that stood out as different to me was Rob Liefeld's page. He changed some of the action slightly (with a swinging kick showing Snake Eyes's feet prominently ).

Oh, yeah, and Adam Riches also changed Destro's chess pieces into '80s GI Joe action figures, which I found kind of funny.
MarybethR_Boyd
In my opinion, Marvel has enough money to make their comics and republish them. On the other hand, DC probably doesn't want to waste time or money. As for artists, there was simply no normal search for specialists, there is not a single person who would like to become a comic book artist (well, of course from those who can draw). valiantman
It seems like these kinds of remakes will be done over and over (and mostly poorly) forever once the originals fall into public domain.

MarybethR_Boyd
Why so immediately?.. How do you advise writing messages?... Immediately ban for bad sentences, ban for links, ban for off-topic posts?... Then what are these discussions for?... I went and looked at the necessary information, and why should I leave the site and forget about it?... I understand that everyone pursues his own goal, but is the community for communication or not?... : (((
