PGM Journey into Mystery #89

I have decided that, in working toward my goal of having the first ten issues of the early SA Marvels, I would prefer to have my first ten JiM issues in slabs. So I need your help in determining whether this book is worth slabbing.

On the front cover, it is clear that there is Marvel chipping along the right side of the cover. There isa small piece missing from the bottom right-hand corner, along with a piece that is still attached, but folded back. There is a ding at the upper left-hand corner, but this is MUCH more noticeable at the upper right-hand corner of the back cover. On the spine, there is a 1" split at the bottom, and a 0.5" split at the top. Also, there is a 1+" tear above Thor's left hand, along with a 0.5" tear about 3/4 down on the right-hand side. There is a small tear just to the right of Thor's right foot.

The back cover has a stain in the coupon, but it doesn't pass through to the inside of the back cover. There are several very small tears along the spine, and there are several creases along the left-hand side.

The staples are firmly attached, despite some tearing near both staples.

Wow! For a Math Teacher you must have the big bucks to afford ALL the first 10 copies of SA superheroes!

As to this..get it slabbed just to preserve it from any further deterioration. 2.0/2.5

As a former math teacher, I understand the power of compound interest. I followed Warren Buffett's advice, and I put my money in index funds. I started having money taken out of my check from day one ($25/month), and I just kept increasing the amount taken out year by year. The amount I increased it varied from year to year, depending on our financial situation.

Also, I already owned the first ten+ issues of Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, and X-Men. In addition, I also had Tales to Astonish #27 and #35, Journey Into Mystery #83, Strange Tales #101 and #110, Tales of Suspense #39, Incredible Hulk #1, and Sgt. Fury and HHC #1.

I have completed my Sgt. Fury first ten. As for the rest, I need four IH, five ST, eight JiM, five TtA, and five ToS.
