Really nice issue, some color rub top right cover. Biggest issue is top staple detached.

Detached staple completely bones you and caps you at a 6.0.  Such a bummer! Beautiful book.

Much, much higher. If you really wanna torture yourself with what-ifs , I could see this getting a 8.5-9, possibly higher.

The CGC guide book says a cover detached at a single staple can still get a 7.0 or 7.5. I suspect you'd have to look for a long time to find one like this. I'd look carefully at the bottom staple for structural weakness b/c the top detachment can strain the bottom one during handling and it could knock it down further. I'll say 5.5/6.0 b/c of the detachment plus other minor/moderate defects that wouldn't get to the max for a detachment.

You might be right, I didn't look too closely after seeing the detached staple. What other defects do you see besides the spine stresses/ticks and light color rub?

Thanks SolidShredder.  It is what it is, not sweating it.  Got book at a great price a few years ago.  Happy with 6-7. May even submit 🙂

Take whatever theses guys give you and add on a full grade. That would be more realistic.

6.0 as is, 8.0-8.5 if the staple was attached.

I have a Daredevil 1 with a detached top staple that is CGC graded at a 7.5.  It would otherwise grade around 9.0
