Inside of book looks good, other than “Mary” written on an interior page in ballpoint pen. Front cover has “35” written on it faintly.

4.0/4.5. It's the creasing & discoloration (back cover) not the distributor grease pencil or the name that sets the upper limit

So we know her name is Mary and that she's 35. Hmm...there's something about Mary.

I was thinking 5.0 until I saw the back cover, with it's slightly mottled darker areas. I'm thinking 4.0 to 4.5 now. Top staple: is it a bit oxidised?

Yeah I think there’s a hint of rust on the top staple. I guess Mary had a little rust.
