The Shame Of Mary Quinn, Pyramid 28

Structurally very  nice, with small dogears lower FC and BC, tight and square, good gloss and color,
but ohh that back cover. Plenty of soiling and smudging. Interior is clean. Sigh...If it wasn't for the side-boob...

Asking $5

Last book for the evening. I've chosen to go out tonight with a beauty.

The African Queen, Bantam 712, stated second printing.
This one actually IS news stand fresh. Flat, clean, square, glossy, tight, clean interior, bold colors.
There just isn't much of anything wrong with it.  I've seen new books shelved in bookstores with more troubles than this one.

I want $20 for this one, second print notwithstanding. SOLD!

That's it friends, done for the evening. Expect an early bird session PLUS an early afternoon session tomorrow to get
caught up, followed by the usual evening fun. Tomorrow evening is back to science fiction and fantasy, with a
nice handful of Frazetta covers.  See you then.

G'morning! Time for catch-up from last night's shortened session.

Each Night A  Black Desire, NewsStand Library 4-A

General wear, shows up dramatically on the black front cover. More minor mayhem BC,
and on page 2 there's a big ol' printover, under which, in the right light, you can see a different copyright notice
from what appears elsewhere.  Printed in Canada, I'm guessing it held an American copyright and it was cheaper
to use the original plates amd smudge it up then reset the page. Just my guess, mind you...

Asking $5

Last Stand At Papago Wells, Gold Medal 686
First edition of a Louis L'Amour title, this is a paperck original, stated first printing.

And it's kinda rough. General wer, chipping and small corners off lower RH corner, chips out upper and lower spine.
Nice lowgrade reader, not a lick better.

FREE with the NEXT sale, just claim it!

A Bullet For My Lady, Gold Medal 472

A tight clean copy, square and clean, good gloss, bright colors. Clean interior.
Bit of rubbing zlong the spine FC is the worst of it.
Holroyd lists this one at $65 for the low price, $130 for the high end.

How about $50 for this one.

A Man Lay Dead, Fontana Books 389
British publication, and I've been told by a couple people who should know that this is a rare first printing.
I'll have to take their word for it,  couldn't find out much about it. However, they may be right, I couldn't spot
any listing of this particular edition on ABE, although there was a fifth printing listed for $30

Regardless it's a solid midgrade copy with general wear, but there's a light water stain upper edge and spine BC.
Small ink notation upper RH page 1.

Let's see. Asking $20

A note about tonight's session.

It may start late, it may be abbreviated, and there's a possibilty that it may not happen at all.

Some of you east coast and midwest dealers and collectors may know Roger Petersen, from The Collectors Zone
in Jackson Michigan. Roger was diagnosed with bone cancer back around the first of the year, and passed away
midweek last week. There's a little memorial/wake for him this evening at 6 PM here in town and I'll be attending.
Depending on  how many funny stories folks have to tell, I may be late for the session this evening, or call it
off entirely.

Look for me by 9 PM or so, or not at all, and I'll double up tomorrow to catch up.

Just wanted to say that I always enjoyed talking with Roger at the Gem City Comic Con.  He always had some of the best $5 books you’d want.  My thoughts are with his family.
