I've got a new SA (mostly) Marvel collection to be processed this week, I'll be posting a few this weekend then getting into the meat of it next week.

It is a batch that originated in the Midwest when the collector was a child, they had been left behind at some point in his life and then books had been somewhat recently reunited with the owner here in the Northeast.  It looks like the bulk of the books were purchased by original owner who somehow acquired a few additional books for his collection(name of another person on at least one).  Collection consists of incomplete runs of early ASM (1-40+), Avengers (1-8+), FF (1-53+), JIM (90-126+) & others including some major & minor keys, there are other later issues that I didn't get(but we're not missing anything good from those).  Condition is low grade for the most part.  Very few if any Marvel books have tape, I have not seen any evidence of color touch or other restoration either.  I'm doing a thorough inspection to make sure books are complete as there are a couple with coupons cut out.

Amazing Spider-Man #1 $5395 Complete, cover detached/completely split(torn from wear not brittle), 1st wrap detached at bottom staple and has some tears(splits), centerfold detached, has ragged edges(I didn't unfold them) and has been folded again near original spine fold(see pic) but should be no problem to unfold/flatten, small tears through spine of interior, cover paper supple, not missing too much paper, name stamp(not the owner) front cover & every other page, pages are cream to some offwhite and supple, no brittleness, the area under "AM" is wrinkled, it can see it laying flat again in the pics of just the cover, the separated front & back covers match up nicely with little paper missing if it were to be reconnected, some stains

Tales of Suspense #39 $4495 cover attached at bottom staple with pulling, front cover detached at top staple but back cover attached, 7/8" & 1/2" tears right edge front cover, stains front cover, 4" tear back cover, cream to some offwhite pages, centerfold attached, coupon out page 13 affecting title only of last story, some spine splits, certainly looks better than technical grade it would get due to coupon out

Avengers #1 $1995 would have graded out to a nice VG o(maybe VG+?)with nice color colors, cover firmly attached, centerfold detached at bottom staple, very light rust on staples, light front cover center crease, but there is a corneroff  of splash page that affects text on back side of page

Avengers #4 G/VG $700 cover attached but pulling, 1/2" lower spine tear with continued 1/2" tear into cover, small upper spine split, tears at spine do not go through interior spine, small piece on back near upper staple may come off, nice very light cream-mostly offwhite pages, little roll to cover makes it look trimmed on right but when repositioned properly it's fine
