I went to this Con yesterday and it goes through today.  Very big Con with a ton of vendors but a bunch were toys and Pop sellers.  There still was about 20 comic vendors from all over but prices were sky high for common books so I only spent $60 of my $500 I had ready.  Couple vendors I talked to had very low expectations so maybe they would be willing to give a big discount today!

I've heard that this USED TO BE a tremendous show but this was the first year under a new promoter and a new venue and it was terrible.  A friend of mine set up there and said it wasn't a good show buying or selling.  It's tough when the promoter doesn't know what they are doing, doesn't advertise, or doesn't get the best dealers to come back.  Your report goes exactly with what I heard.  I really wanted to go down and buy at this one but glad I missed it.  Thanks for the report!

It's never been a killer show in terms of buying but the promoter from a couple years ago ran a tight ship and got in some great artists and it seemed to attract a wide variety of big and small dealers which made it a pleasure to go check out even if I didn't grab a bunch of stuff.  This year felt like a swap meet with very little organization and the booths were really crammed in.  Advertising was minimal where it use to get a media blitz that brought in people from all over.  I did talk to a dealer who runs a couple cons in Michigan (said he know you well) and he did seem very disappointed with the lack of buyers.  I saw they had booths available not that long ago and almost set up since it sounded like a big deal but I'm glad I only lost a couple hours of my time instead of losing a whole weekend and hundreds of dollars in booth fees.
