Crime-Fighting Detective 12 $80

Very tough Cole crime book, only 3 on census!  My second favorite Cole crash after All Famous Police Cases 6.  I’d grade this around a solid 4.0 with consistent wear along edges and spine, a ½” bottom split, three smallish chips on right edge and foxing on front and back covers.  Some cool crude stories in here too.

Blue Bolt Weird 116 $600

This sharp, killer Cole cover rocks sweet vibrant colors, a bright white title and clean blacks.  Back cover has some issues- sun shadow and a 1” tear on left edge, and some smallish bug chews on bottom corners. Spine is nice except for a ¼” bottom split.  Also, book has 4 staples, but they seem to be a binding error which won’t affect grade (see pic).

Shocking Mystery Cases 59 $250
Not too many of these around, in fact only 9 total listed on the census.  Covers are flat smooth and glossy, but have light, even oxidization.   Small piece missing from top right corner, small chip right edge.   Spine is nice for the grade, with ¾” split top.  Back cover has ½” near top left corner.  Otherwise, a tight book.

Horrors Of War 11 $300
These never come up.  Solid low grade book with even wear, excellent colors, plenty of gloss and deep blacks.  Most significant issue is book length fold starting a bottom left corner ending at a scuff/bend between the last O and R of HORROR.  Fold doesn’t appear to break color on front except at scuff, so would likely press out.  Back cover also has 4” fold across top left corner and a touch of chew bottom left.  Interior covers are tan, especially across the top, see picture, but seems supple and safe to read, and you’ll want to because this issue includes Disbrow’s war classic “Spirit of War” featuring a very a gnarly ghoul ghost who reveals himself to actually be a very Disbrow-style Hitler!  Stone Cold Freaking Classic.

Spook 29   $200
Underrated cover in my opinion, this book is solid low grade, except for ½” square chip barely attached on right edge of front cover, and a smaller chip hanging a few inches below, so be berry berry cawful when de-bagging.  ¾” lower spine split.  Interior covers tanned, especially across top, see pic. Love the dude’s green fingernails.

Contains 3 by Disbrow including “The Thing From Beyond” and “Solo For Death”.

CGC Shocking Mystery Cases 56  $300
Cole lands a total knockout punch with his signature “man smashing though glass” cover.  Solid lower mid-grade copy.  Once again, this flat, smooth book displays rich deep colors and respectable whites, although both covers host light soiling, some foxing, and small stain and abrasion spots.  Most noticeable is the “abrasion dent” on the guy’s jacket near his left color which affects the back cover near “Also”.  Entire spine has even, light wear, some reading creases but cover is tightly attached.  Edges are quite nice, as is PQ.

LB Cole Animals Attack!  Two Book Lot $80

4Most Vol8 #3
That’s one expertly drawn pissed off mega scary tiger!  Cover is mostly smooth and glossy but has a ½” tear through spine, a ½” split at bottom, normal wear along edges and a spine roll that can be pressed out if you’re so inclined.

4Most Vol7 #6  Beautiful FC is smooth flat glossy with rich yummy colors and near perfectly centered.  General wear tear around edges, corners and spine, but nothing major.  ½” tear through most of pages at bottom edge, looks from the printer/distributor and not a defect.

Shocking Mystery 55   $500
Bloody red front cover of this Cole classic boasts solid, rich primary colors, dark blacks, nice gloss, and excellent centering.  Front cover shows overall general wear along edges, surface, and spine consistent with grade, but nothing significant.  1” tear on right edge of back cover, otherwise very flat and exceptionally clean.  Very nice OW/W PQ is the cherry on top on this solid, tough book.

CGC Blue Bolt Weird 117   $750

Nice colors and centering on this cool Cole book. Obvious defect is a full-width fold across bottom right corner, but color loss is very light, with several smaller bends on corners.  Small staple tears and a ¼” split bottom spine.  Back cover has a few edge tears, a small stain and a very small 1/8-ish piece missing at top end of spine.

Features Disbrow’s masterpiece “The Thing in the Pit” and another crude whack jungle tale “The Devil Plant and the Weird Man”. Great title!

A killer copy of Cole’s Frankenstein monster, with a mouthwatering cover- flat, smooth, clean whites, vivid, glowing colors, and solid blacks.  Only detraction is the small tear/fold on top right corner.  Unfortunately, there’s a 1 x ½” piece missing from the back cover, top left corner.  Also, interior edges of cover show tanning, but book is totally supple.
