CBCS restored to CGC Grading 1 1

I know there was a post about this 5-6 years ago but I would like to ask again here in year 2023. Time changes a lot of things and I am not sure about how grading doing now..

Would you send in a restored Amazing Fantasy #15 graded by CBCS to be re-graded by CGC? Edges are trimmed.

Shall I take off the slab myself and send to CGC or would it be better to send the original slab?

It's an interesting question. Does a trimmed book in a cgc holder command more than a trimmed book in a cbcs holder? 

 

I imagine the cgc book would go for more, but I doubt it would be enough to offset the cost and inconvenience of cracking and resubmiting. 

So I personally wouldn't do it.

The CGC slab will get more eyeballs if it's pictured in an auction ,but due to trimmed likley not more in $ value of bids.  The added expenses you incur may not be worth it.  Makes for an interesting "case study"

Do you think CGC certification will bring at least 4~5% more than CBCS certification?  If not, stand pat.
