Then there is the difference that we don't yet know in the market concerning the Sample Copy of #1 and the Regular #1.

Sample has been achieving more in value? but the 9.8 sale mentioned above is for a regular?

I wonder hm

Lowly examples. Notice the "free sample copy" as oppose to "free poster inside"

Also CGC grades these now, and they are thick, and as of 2023 achieving aghast for the limited available in high grade, and or, still complete with stickers!

It is really the only sale that I've seen so far, so I'm not sure if a fair comparison :)

Also gocollect.com has started following magazines, while neglecting them for a long while.

Adding Nintendo Power into some of their star advertising for the new feature :)

When I got it added to the registry, and some transfers of ranks, lol "NOW YOUR PLAYING WITH POWER!"

For the record I think the price is a little insane and won't hold up over time, and that's coming from a fan of nintendo material as a collectible.

But I have to think that's a copper age record for anything that isn't TMNT 1?

Nintendo Power #1 (Nintendo of America, Inc., 1988) [Newsstand Edition] CGC 9.8 NM/MT White Pages....

Auction 7307 | Lot: 28080 | Apr 20, 2023
Sold For:  $108,000.00

Interesting... mainly because it's not a comic or even a "comic magazine"... how many non-comic magazines sell for $100,000+?

I think CGC 9.4 Playboy #1 (1953) might be the only one.

Sports Illustrated #1 (1954) is a "warehouse book", so they're easy to grab in CGC 9.8 under $5,000.

Are any other non-comic magazines even $25,000? hm

High Times CGC 5.5 sold for $4,500 in 2021 makes me wonder what a Really HIGH grade would fetch.

Here is a quick list I pulled from an older  internet article.

Although several of these are either out of date (price wise) as here is the current GPA on a CGC 9.4 Playboy #1 First Print

As for Life and Time as well as National Geographic there are a few semi valuable issues , but a lot of these "most valuable " are in the thousands not even tens of thousands.

It is also worth mentioning that V1 1888 #1 National Geographic has sold as high as $100,000 however now the average sale is around $7k - $9k. That said if a Extremely High Grade came to market it has potential to be up there.

The "High Times!"

Always loved the posters that were practically guaranteed for each issue, but before Wizard followed suit I assume?

the posters are great.    I'll contribute with the OA for the poster in #35.

Its an old pic but its better than no pic.

More and more posters!

Posters welcome for sure!

They had Gimmick style as well, and embossed mega man to cover and preserve the cover underneath with a Looney Tunes poster insert, featuring tournament fighters tmnt! Rock on!

What I find interesting is the insert that is loose in some copies, due to subscriptions I assume, think it would still get a blue label without it, but would leave it in there if there is one?
