Shoulder Torque Memories

Some of the posts lately have been bringing me on a trip down memory lane. I remember seeing an ad in one of the fanzines around 1986 for a Detective #1 in fair condition - all complete but cover detached and pages tan/brown but supple - price was $400 and I gave serious thought to it but said to myself "hmmm - pre Batman - $400 - I'll pass."

 

Now in Good it is OS at $8333. But even at that, how many do you see for sale?

 

SO what of the then-more-obscure books have you remembered seeing and passing on - thus bringing a torgue to your shoulders?
